Gourmet Fixed Price Luncheon at the Airport

Doug Vogl, CPA | Feb 23, 2005 02:52 AM

I almost hate to recommend this place as it's like revealing a secret fishing spot. The Quality College Culinary School operates the California Bistro, I think it's called, where several BBQ restaurants have been before at the corner of University & Fine, near FAT. The Fresno County Federal Credit Union is on the corner across the street -this is between McKinley & Clinton on Fine at University, only Tuesdays through Fridays from about 11:00am to 1:00pm The chefs in training prepare and serve a different entre each day and Fresnans who dare eat there are well served. I love that the fixed price includes beverage, soup, salad and desert in addition to the entre, and I always try to get a copy of the menu for the upcoming month so I can plan a couple business lunches. I scan & email the menu to associates about town after I get my copy. It's only a matter of time until they start serving dinner, but for now I enjoy the quiet business lunches I have there. I'll be there more often, I hope, after tax season. They have salads & hamburgers if the entre doesn't agree with someone in your group. Tell 'em Doug sent you and I might get a free ice-tea in late April!
