Was in Palo Alto for dinner last night and was taken to a restaurant called Evvia on Emerson St. Great ambience, excellent service and really good food. Not expensive for what you are served and $20 for corkage (but we had a 1986 Duckhorn Three Palms Merlot). The calamaris is deep fried but not crisp. Unusual texture for me but quite tasty. The W wanted the New York steak and my friends had the pork chop and the whole striped bass. Lovely evening. Noise level was acceptable. A definite thumbs up.
