Good produce in East Bay?-Lunardi's Foods

As a long time Berkeley Bowl fan, I was a little bummed about moving from Berkeley to the other side of the tunnel. In search of decent produce, I just checked out Lunardi's grocery in Walnut Creek (I live in Pleasant Hill). The lack of crowds was nice, but I was pretty disappointed with Lunardi's produce section (in terms of quality, selection, and price) and left before checking out the rest of the store.

However, other people have raved about Lunardi's. Was I too quick to judge? Or are they just unaware of BBowl? Are there other good produce stores nearby? So far, I've been trekking over to Berkeley Bowl every weekend and loading up on groceries. I doubt there is anyplace around me that is comparable to BBowl (other than Whole Foods, but I think their prices are outrageous), but I need a place to carry me through the end of the week, when the BBowl produce is all gone or starting to wilt. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!
