My wife and I are rather new to the city, and are looking for good mexican restaurants, specifically Oaxacan ones. She spent a year in Oaxaca in high school and has gotten me addicted to the food. (She didn't have to try hard, I already loved nuevo mexican from New Mexico)
The closest we've come is Montezuma on Kingsbridge Road in the Bronx. (Pleasingly close to where we live) But that seems to be a more northern variety of Mole Poblano, and hence inferior. I have successfully made it myself (see link for recipe), but it's almost a whole day's work making the sauce.
