Help Chowhounds, help! We just ate the yuckiest most dissapointing "Indian" meal we've ever had. The local food court beats it, I swear. It was at Dhamba on Main Street and Bicknell in Santa Monica.
I'll sum up in a nutchell because it's not worth the time even to write: tiny lhassis served in tiny 8oz glasses, stale, store-bought naan, papadum cooked hours ago, uninspired mint chutney, inauthentic saag paneer (tasted kinda Mexican, which is great when you go out for Mexican food...) and another sweet-potato and eggplant-ish dish that did not beg remembering. All tiny portions for an overpriced $34. Steer clear.
So where do we go for good Indian? We don't particularly care about ambiance, in fact, take-out is more than fine with us, as long as it's GOOD and INDIAN and not way overpriced.
Thanks in advance!
