Good Baltimore area Deli?

Warthog | Aug 30, 2004 07:07 PM

I'm looking for a deli (Kosher or otherwise), grocery, or any other such place that would have a good selection of sausages, lunchmeats and such. The local "big" groceries seem to favor multiple variations on the same theme - 8 brands of ham, 4 brands of liverwurst, a couple of salami variants, a few bolognas and the various turkey breast styles - you know what I mean. It looks like a lot when you walk up, but then you realize it's a multiple brand selection of a small number of different items.

I'm looking for the sort of place where one can go and be surprised by something you haven't seen or tried before, and where there is sufficient turnover of product that one will not be unpleasantly surprised by the freshness of the more obscure stuff. I've gotten the mail order catalogue from Usinger's in Milwaukee (amazing selection), but I'd really prefer to find someplace local where I can go and explore on a whim, rather than having to worry about minumum quantity limits for mail orders.
