Last night had dinner at the near north location of Gibson's steakhouse.
Some out of towners wanted to go.
I asked and all of Gibson's steaks are USDA Prime and are wet-aged.
They have started a cut called the W.R. Chicago cut steak here. The Chicago cut is a bone-in ribeye.
It had to be one of the least flavorful steaks I have ever eaten. An extreme disappointment.
One nice touch was when I had explained to the waiter that it was a very mediocre steak, he took it off the bill and comped dessert.
Funny how you size up fellow diners to see if they are "chowhound material". The only other diner in the group who I felt was up to par, commented that his porterhouse was very mediocre as well.
