We had a hankering for german rolls, weisswurst and other German stuff this weekend.

It's no secret to that they make lots of rye bread for grocery stores across sothern Ontario, but those in the west end know that Dimflmeiers Bakery also has a ton of great German and East European baked goods. Their rolls with caraway seeds and salt on top are tasty when fresh. Their danishes are pretty sweet, but I like 'em. They are on Advance Road, east of Kipling.

European Meats and Food Depot International, are right next to each other on Jutland, east of Kipling. City market has tons of German, Polish and other goods--right down to the mustard in tubes. European Meats takes care of the meat--european sausages and inexpensive cuts of meat. The store is a lot bigger than the one in Kensington.

The lineups are long at Dimflmeiers and European Meats on the weekend but the do move pretty quickly.
