Last night I went out to dinner with my friends at Furaibo. The food was very good. It's Japanese bar food that goes well with icy (sp?) cold sake....
Each dish is small, reminding me of tapas.
Beef tataki, served with minced garlic, spicy daikon, and onions on the side.... (I ate a whole plate of this myself because I really love rare beef)
fried eggplant, not breaded, just fried japanese eggplant with bonita flakes on top and minced ginger
asparagus stir fried with bacon
fried oysters, breaded, served with mayonnaise
chicken wings, extra spicy and has a sprinking of sesame seeds on top (they have other parts of the chicken but I like the way they cook the wings here the best because all that skin crisps up quite nicely)
beef tongue, lightly grilled
wafu steak, comes on top of a bed of cabbage on a sizzling teppan plate, topped with daikon and dipping sauce
daikon soboro, daikon slow cooked so very soft, with pork sauce
grilled smelt fish
It is on 2nd Street, one block east of Alameda.
