'FU KEE, Bao and Dim Sum, Scarborough'.......GONE DOWN HILL!!......in both quality and value for money!
Sigh! It was great whilst it lasted! :(
A few months ago, at the height of the Covid-19 period, their restaurant quality Dim Sum, made by former DS chef of Skyview Fusion, was a God sent. It was nice to be able to stock up the freezer with Char Siu Bao, Har Gow, Chicken feet....etc and eat good quality Dim Sum at home, if and when one has a craving for them.
Sadly, my purchase last week was a huge disappointment! For the same price point, they skimmed on products like their 'Shrimp dumpling with chives', reducing the quantity from 6 morsels to 5 per packet. ( See photo ). Quality and texture of shrimp used for filling was inferior. Same with quantity of the Chicken feet...once packed solid, now there are tons of wriggling room inside the container. Wrappers for dumplings like 'Chiu Chow Fun Gor' were excessively thick, filling for their Char Siu Bao (BBQ pork buns) are less generous........etc.
Time to save on gasoline money and say good bye!
Latest rumor has it, they might even have changed hands?!
