A two part message, first, beware if you have a frosted glass cutting board. I did have one (and DID is the key operative word here). One morning while I was washing it, it suddenly shattered into thousands of little pieces, none larger than a marble.
I can't figure out what caused it, I was rinsing it with barely warm water, I was not applying any pressure to it nor had it been dropped. It simply disintegrated without warning. I was very lucky not to have received some nasty cuts.
Since a cutting board is a necessary staple in my kitchen, I have since replaced it with a plastic one.
Does anyone have a clue as to why this phenomenon occured?
