Fried Rice with Chinese Sausage at Taiwan Cafe

Dave M.P. | Apr 8, 2004 02:23 AM

The scene: Me and three friends, Taiwan Cafe, 11:30 PM, Wednesday night.

The food: Two bowls of wonton soup (mostly eaten by friend #1 and friend #2), 1 plate of fried rice with chinese sausage (mostly eaten by friend 3 and me), 1 eggplant with basil to go (for friend #3's girlfriend), 2 pots of tea

The results: Amazing as usual. Fried rice was very very well done. Excellent sausage, lightly fried white rice, large pieces of egg, bak choi, scallions. Cleaned the plate. Also was just 5 dollars. Wonton soups: huge, good wontons. I personally never get soup at TC since there are always too many other things I want more. But it's not bad.

Quite a few people coming in and out (esp considering how deserted the streets are and that it was 11:30 on a wednesday...) - maybe some other chowhounds were there..??..??

Moral of the story = Taiwan Cafe is great for a midnight snack. And also friend #3 probably got lucky ;)
