Some Fried Clams-Dairy Joy and Sayles

chuck s | Apr 20, 2005 03:35 PM

My fried clam adventures took me to Dairy Joy on Saturday which I haven't tried. I went for the clam roll. They were tasty and not too heavy, but what was very dissappointing was that for $16. there were only eight small clams. Now I'm not usually into size and I can only eat so many clams at a time but this was ridiculously small. On the other hand I was on Nantucket on Monday and had clams at Sayles, a seafood market by the boatyard and for $11. I had an appetizer portion of fried clams which was plentiful and delicious. Though it is not a restaurant, they have a few tables on the porch for eating. This is my spot when I'm on Nantucket.
