My french boyfriend and I will be visiting NY for five days in March. We love food. Money is not really an issue - this is a blowout trip - but atmosphere is (nothing too stuffy). For obvious reasons, we'd like to avoid french bistros/brasseries/etc. I'm orginally from NY, and know the city well, so I'd love to introduce him to some fabulous American cooking and great service. We'll be staying in Soho.
We love sushi, and we'd like one romantic meal, and one meal with family friends, so here is a preliminary list:
Blue Hill (is this good for a small group?)
The Tasting Room or Veritas
A vietnamese restaurant (we met in Vietnam)
lupa or babbo
Am I leaving something major off the list? I'd love your advice.
