freezing sauteed mushrooms?

I bought too many mushrooms for a recipe I made a few days ago, and I don't want to waste them. Could make a mushroom quiche, use for pizza topping, or any of a number of things, but I'm not in the mood. I'd like to just saute them in some olive oil, maybe with a bit of slivered garlic, and freeze them for later use. Will that work, or is it a bad idea?
