Freezing flour tortilla dough?

arielleeve | Mar 22, 201507:06 PM

I made a batch of flour tortillas using just flour, salt, and vegetable shortening. I rolled into balls but only need a few this week. Was initially planning on cooking them all and freezing them, but I'm wondering if I can freeze the dough balls instead, so that I can defrost and cook them from fresh next time I need them? I don't see what I couldn't do it, but since I've never tried before (and since most recipes call for freezing the cooked tortillas, not the dough), I wanted to make sure.
