Let's Be Frank Update, ATT Park

Finally made it to a Giants game this year, and managed to pick one where Lincecum was pitching...so despite the fact that beers are $9 or such now, the game exceeded my (low, of course) expectations...

However, the Let's Be Frank hotdogs outside the park, are no longer up to par, IMO. First of all, cost has risen 50 cents (to $5.50), though I guess that isn't unexpected.

They had both a brat (all pork) and the regular all beef dog. Son and hubby and I all had the LBF beef dog. The dog itself still has a nice snap and is tasty, but is somewhat thinner and longer than I remember. Particularly for a long dog, the texture of the bun just doesn't cut it: it didn't even hold up until I got from the stand to the outside tables by the Acme Chophouse outside bar (literally fifteen feet away)...The bun is too soft and yet too chewy all at the same time (Wonder Bread consistency, I guess you would call it, and no better in taste)....I kept having to rescue grilled onions and sourkraut as they fell out as the bun fell (sort of melted actually) into little pieces. meh.

I notice on their website that they now sell the dogs at my neighborhood Canyon Market:

maybe this is the way to go now. I am sure I can find a better bun. In the meantime, next time I think I will try the Hebrew National Chicago dogs (on the Promenade level as you get off the escalator from the Willie Mays entrance)....
