I had the pleasure of dining at the HOB Foundation Room last night. We were one of 2 couples in an intimate little room with only 6 tables. Interesting quilted walls with windows on 1 side looking over Hollywood. Service was very professional, attentive and on point with all items on the menu. Wine was an affordable bottle of Oregon Pinot Noir, very good. Now the good stuff...first the chef sent out a special appetizer of smoked salmon served on plantain chips w/ a fruit coulis. We followed with spinach gnocchi in a pesto/lobster sauce, baby lettuce salad w/ pecans & roquefort in a pomegranite & vanilla-bean 'vinagrette', creamy sweet onion soup w/ bacon, grilled sea bass served with roasted potatoes/asparagus/citrus vinagrette, ended with banana/chocolate bread pudding. Everything was excellent, no complaints whatsoever, even the bill was resonable. The F.R. cannot be compared with the regular HOB restaurant. It is definitely a higher quality, upper-level operation and a unique dining experience to boot.
