Since this is the weekend of the last real football, forget about tht super bowl, my thoughts turn naturally to pizza. I read all the posts about Bronx Pizza and others downtown and I would like to add my two cents. Up in north county, Carlsbad specifically, is knockout pizza. It is run by a guy that used to work at Bronx Pizza. I found the pizza to be similar to bronx pizza with a limited selection of toppings. I found that the more toppings a place has, the worse the pizza is. This pizza is thin crust. I refuse to call it New York style because I know it is never the same. The water is different, not coal fired ovens, etc. etc. They do sell pizza by the slice, and they have high enough turnover the the slices are fresh. My complaint is they do not have chopped clam and garlic pizza. disregard my above thoughts on pizza toppings but I really crave a thin crust clam pizza. any ideas?
