This summer, I've started on making food for Christmas gifts, something I swear I'll do each year when I visit the farmer's market. Some of my ideas have come from Chowhound. I have made: dilled green beans, bread and butter pickles, blueberry jam, hot pepper jelly(the next batch I make this weekend will be hotter), and pepper vodka. Closer to Christmas, I plan to make cheese spread, to be given in pretty glass mugs I found on sale this summer, and fruitcake - I've picked my recipients carefully and will only give it to those I know will appreciate it. I have really enjoyed the pickles and jams I processed - haven't canned since I was a kid, helping my mom. It was very relaxing. I'm wondering what others are making as gifts this year.
