My husband and I are traveling across Europe and we have decided to cover some not very well known foodie cities. We stopped at Lyon for a couple of days and were greatly surprised by the amount of excellent restaurants available and the fact they were reasonably priced! We tried a few but our recommendations are Mozzato, which has a comprehensive menu of Italian delicacies served in generous portions, and l'Instant Fromage, with a wide range of exquisite cheeses and the friendliest staff ever.
Also you should check out the stunning Basilique Notre Dame de Fourvière, and the 1st arrondissement of Lyon, it is very bohemian, full of art galleries and steps due to the hilly steep terrain that give it an intricate and interesting urban structure. When we go back we'll definitely try and eat there as well, we saw a couple of very tempting places we had to miss because we hadn't time enough to try everything. We are putting on a little bit of weight during this trip but oh well, you only live once right :)?
