Fong's Pizza...wow. [Des Moines, IA]

McBoingBoing | Jan 7, 201005:33 PM     1

So, I went down to Des Moines on a culinary school visit a few months ago, called my best friend , who lives in Ankeny, and asked him to go out to eat. I told him I wanted something different, somewhere I hadn't been or couldn't find in my home town of Sioux City. He took me to a place called Fong's Pizza, a hole in the wall bar/pizza joint with some serious things going on. First of all, our server was top notch. He gave us free slices to sample, and during happy hour we got pitchers of Fat Tire for $5.25 a piece! The pizza was excellent, but that wasn't the shining point..their service is bar-none. Amazing. I'd love to go back.

The Boink, out.
