I've run out of flower mushrooms and the last time I shopped for them at a little store, I was pointed towards shiitake with cracked caps that looked meaty and somewhat similar, but with none of that mouthwatering aroma and taste.
I usually shop either at a big chinese supermarket with very little guidance available, or at a small store with an elderly lady who speaks very little english.
How to ensure I dont come away with the wrong mushrooms yet again??
