The Flatbush Street Fair (Flatbush, between Bergen and Grand Army Plaza) is going on right now. It seems better organized with better quality vendors this year. I made a couple of new discoveries - I am not sure if they've been mentioned here before,
1. Biscuit - a new Southern/BBQ place will be opening up in the old Detroit Fried Chicken spot on Flatbush between Sterling and Park Place right next to Key Foods. They are giving out FREE samples of pulled pork and biscuit sadnwiches, in addition to some desserts. I tried the pulled pork, which was satisfying, rich and tasty. Didn't try the cakes, but they looked pretty good. The proprietors said that Biscuit will be opening up in November.
2. A new Indian restaurant is opening up at Prospect Place and Flatbush next to the laundromat on the west side of Flatbush. I don't know anything except that there is a sign up indicating the aforementioned.
I know a lot of us are holding out some hope that there will eventually be a better-than-average Indian restaurant in the 'hood. Will this be the one?
Anyway, if anyone has any other information, please let us know!
