Last month's meeting in the Capitol was the chance to continue my rounds of Sacramento's fine coffeehouses. Dropping by Chocolate Fish Coffee's downtown location for the first time, I debated whether I should order the nitro coffee or a flat white. Not an issue, it turned out, when I learned that the nitro coffee is only available at the East Sac store. Not enough space in this smaller storefront. A flat white for me, please.
The long and narrow coffee bar setting is more for to-go than sitting down with a cup. Yet, having the small space to myself early in the morning, the aqua leather lounger was comfy to enjoy my flat white and a Magpie rocher (meringue studded with almonds) for breakfast. Very creamy and silken microfoam topped a rounded and chocolate-y espresso brew. Lovely start to the day.
