We went to Fioretto for lunch Saturday. I spoke to David, the chef, who looked like a beaten man. He told me that he made some bad judgements as he got more business (such as not taking reservations). He is once again taking reservations. He will not budge on the corkage issue. You can't bring wine. Food is as good as ever. He looked like he might throw in the towel soon. That would be a shame. If any other Hounds want to see him stay in business, please support him now in his hour of need. This week he mentioned that he is doing a dish or two using Tripe. Last week he had Veal Liver. He also did a salad using Grapes, Nuts, and Cheese. The kitchen is still stellar. See you there.
