hi florida hounds,
i'm a little off my stomping grounds here, and thought i would seek some local advice. my wife and i will be in tampa 3/17-3/22 on business and pleasure. she wants sushi one night. i came across three recs for places, and am just wondering what the current thought is.
first, and seemingly most recommended, is yoko's. the other two are soho sushi & samurai blue. my biggest concern is with samurai blue. it looks like it might be more of a "see and be seen" place. any opinions on these or others?
other places on my list to try include: bern's, teresita, taconazo, oystercatchers, castellano & pizzo. i've persused the board pretty well, but any additional input on these will be most appreciated. a few others i might get to are pane rustica, la tropicana and mi mexico. i know, i'm gonna be fat by the time i leave.
as we're well past college age, when we made the plans it totally escaped us that this coincides with spring break. i know tampa doesn't get the crowds that ft lauderdale, daytona beach, etc get, but i'm sure you see a surge. if anyone would care to email me at the address above with recommendations for beaches that will be less teen inundated, i will be eternally grateful.
