last week i asked the question "is there anything decent to eat at fiamma"?
well...I am happy to answer yes!
Went there friday night 8pm res. for 6 people.
Arrived early, had drinks upstairs. at 8pm the hostess asked us if we would like to be seated. we just received our drinks and asked for a little time before we sat down. She said "no problem" 15 minutes later she came up again, we were just about done and she showed us to our seats. - so far so good.
very nice room, good lighting, nice vibe.
Service started off ok, then rapidly went downhill. I had asked for bread right away for my pregnant wife and it took a half hour(i had to ask 3 times). Wine came after the appetizers were served. overall service was poor.
Appetizer -I had the grilled octopus, wife had the asparugus and the other highlight was the diver scallops. all were very good. tasty, fresh, all of us were pleased.
Main courses - because of the posts on this board, we all went for pasta and they did not dissapoint. 4 of us had the garganelli which is tubular pasta with truffle butter and prosciutto and it was delicous. I believe the other dishes were a seafood pasta and a ravioli. all of us again were happy
Desserts - the beignets were outstanding.
6 diners,no complaints other than service and it was pricey for pasta..
I was pleasantly surprised.
