Evanston Farmer's Market Report

scott | Jul 3, 2004 11:48 AM

I just got home from the Evanston farmer's market after missing about the last 3 weeks.

Oh yeah. There will be some good eats this weekend.

Green Acres - I bought a huge bag of italian sweet basil for $2 that I'll make plenty of pesto with. Saw fennel for the first time this year. Arugula $2/bag.

Nichol's - Huge mound of fava beans. Purchased some irish cobbler and french fingerling potatoes.

Henry's was there but I didn't see anything that wasn't offered 3 weeks ago (greens/radishes).

Blueberries, various cherries, rasberries, blackberries, red and black currants are all out in quantity. Got a pint of beautiful rasberries for $4.50.

Now, if I have enough garlic olive oil...
