This was an amazing find. It is located on the northeast corder of Dixie Highway and N. 4th Avenue.
It is a deli, but it also serves hot food. We had dinner there.
The menu is German. I had a pork shank and my wife a combination platter of three kinds of wurst as well as smoked pork chop (I have forgotten the German name). The mixed platter came with potato salad and sauerkraut and with the shank I chose red cabbage and spaetzle. It also came with pea soup. The portions were large and what is much more important is that the food was wonderul. Dessert was apple strudel and poppyseed cake.
The food had a real mittel-europa taste. The cook (chef) came out later. I was very surprised to find that he was from Granada (not the Spanish one), but could cook like a real German. I good cook can cook well in many styles, including those not native to him.
The prices are reasonable.
They only serve until about 5:30, except on Friday and Saturday, when they close at 9.
Don't miss this place.
