Just a note to you all - the clams are still frying and pretty tasty. Shipments from Canada and RI have been keeping the fryolators popping. We got a large clam plate at Essex Seafood on Sat nite and other than the subtle taste differences per local "Essex steamer clam" VS. the shipped-in product, it was very satisfying. The haddock plate was downright dreamy! Crispy, flaky fresh fish thats what I'm talkin' about!
Read another comment on CH that the Red Barrel in ESX was a "bad choice" - indeed theres a place that needs new ownership and a total facility overhaul. Sure some divey joints have killer chow but this is NOT one of them. Avoid it all cost!
