Escargot and Dave Sanborn in Santa Rosa

It’s Indian Summer in the Wine Country and the living (and listening) is easy. Cruised down to Santa Rosa this afternoon to catch Dave Sanborn’s free concert at Montgomery Village.

Chef Josef ( was among the outdoor food vendors. Escargot, six for $5, sounded good for lunch. Served on a cardboard tray sans shells, these were plump and the most tender I’ve ever had. The prep was unique, bathed in a garlic and saffron cream sauce that I mopped up with the thick slice of French bread. Mighty tasty street snack, and now I’m more interested in trying the restaurant.

I followed this up with a Rebel Raspberry smoothie from Juice Shack (next to Hi-Tech Burrito), one of the few selections under 300 calories, to cool off. The cheese plate at Feast Bistro with 12 cheeses and six honeys to select from was tempting, especially for the seat on the patio. But the sound was better directly in front of the bandstand and I lingered there instead. I'll have to return to Feast another time.
