English toffee in Austin?

Professor Salt | Feb 21, 2008 09:17 PM

I'm in Austin visiting friends, and they requested that I bring the English toffee from Trader Joe's because my friends claim they can't get a good version made locally.I'm not talking about English toffee puddding dessert, but the hard nut brittle covered in chocolate and ground almonds.

The TJ toffee is pretty good IMO but not amazing. I find it hard it believe that some local sweet shop doesn't produce a version made with more loving attention than the mass produced one I get at the Trader Joe's in California.

Anyone have a good place for my Austin friends to go?
