Our original plan for the day was to stop at Sazon https://sazonsantafe.com/ for a fancy cocktail post-dinner at Rancho de Chimayo https://www.chowhound.com/post/rancho... once we'd returned to the city. But alas, Sazon had suffered a fire recently and remains closed.
Fortunately, we'd made a quick stop at the wine shop the day before. When I'd heard that apples are a local crop, I became curious about whether anyone was making hard cider in the region. At Susan's Wine, the helpful staffer pointed out two bottlings from Santa Fe Cider Works. When he recommended the “Enchanted Cherry” and cautioned that some people find it too sour, my friend and I simultaneously said, “I want that one.”
Enjoyed as a night cap at home, we liked it a lot. Refreshing, not sweet, nor too brisk for my taste.
