It is with a weepy eye that I report a sad downtown
at Emma's Pizza in Kendall Square. I've been a regular
Emma's eater for about 8 years, dating back to their
prior location in Huron Village. Had one of my standard-order pies ('roni, spinach, & garlic with
rosemary sauce and regular mozz.) there last night,
and was very disappointed. The rosemary sauce is now
overpowering with both the herb (rosemary is obviously a strong herb,
and needs to used judiciously) and a distinct taste
of tomato paste, the crust thicker than
usual and limp, the garlic tasting of a jar.
I know that the business was sold this summer to an employee, so I figured there would be no change in quality. Sadly, it seems I was wrong.
Anyone else have similar feelings?
