I've never been to El Rodeo, so I figured it makes more sense to start a new thread here.
OK, it's been about 2 years since I my last visit there, but El Serrano was one of my favorites when I lived in Lanaster.
Went for a late lunch after church with my wife and a good friend from out of town. Boy did I let him down after raving about this place.
The salsa was the first bad sign, which was aptly described by my guest as Ragu with cilantro. 2 of us ordered authentic Peruvian selections, and could not have been more disappointed. If someone asked my impression of Peruvian cuisine, I'd say it was dry and bland. Even my wife's Pollo Fundido was dry and flavorless with a gloppy cheese sauce.
The desert and service were fantastic though.
I might give it another try, but at those prices I can say I won't go out of my way to visit El Serrano. Not with Alebreje having 3 locations in Reading.
