this is my first post on chowhound. i have been searching fruitlessly for a thanksgiving restaurant (it's early, i know!) for my family and friends to go to. i am hosting thanksgiving this year for 20 people. there may or may not be kids, but ideally we're looking for something in connecticut (anywhere is fine) with either a traditional or unique menu. (not like mexican food but different, you know?) my only criterea is that i can see a present or past menu or hear a rough account of what was served. i need to account for taste and such...
i've contacted sooooo many restaurants already looking for information. the dressing room in westport looked great but they havent responded to my messages, neither has the red barn, or thomas henckellmann...if someone could help me with this that would be great.
as far as unique goes, i looked at the essex clipper train. not open for thanksgiving! looked at randall's ordinary, but they've closed down. i want this dinner to be special and interesting...money is not an issue and i'm willing to travel. what can you give me? hell even a thanksgiving sandwich? haha. i need to get this information NOW so i can start planning.
