My first trip to Joe Poon's new place on 10th and Cherry. I was nervous because I had read a negative review here but I've been a fan since 1997 so I had to try.
It was a great lunch. Chicken skewers, with real, unprocessed chicken meat and peanut sauce, delicious. Phylo dough with chunks of lobster, good, the lobster was a little strong. For an entree I had the chilean sea bass - Joe steered me to it in lieu of the salmon. Battered "fish and chips" with very delicate and tasty fish, great sauces. And of course his signature salad which I've always enjoyed greatly.
So, a new menu with a few old favorites still there, good mixtures of tastes and textures, a nice price, and Joe's energy and attitude as he popped in and out. It's not the single best restaurant in town but it's solid, reliable and tasty. I'll be there on a regular basis from now on.
