Here's my dilemma. My wife and I are spending Christmas with her family in East Meadow on Long Island. My daughter and son-in-law are spending Christmas with his family in Mount Kisco. I checked the map and found that it's between 55 and 60 miles between the two places, with an estimated driving time of about an hour and a half. So I've been searching the Chowhound boards for some place to meet and eat in between. Someplace not real fancy, or at least not real expensive, but with good food of any type. The map shows the route between East Meadow and Mt. Kisco goes through Mount Vernon and Scarsdale. I've searched those places on the Chowhound boards as well as Yonkers and Pelham Manor. So far, nothing looks interesting until I get all the up to Mount Kisco, where Chowhounders wrote nice things about La Camelia. But I really don't want to drive all the way to Mount Kisco, even with the bonus of a visit to the Mount Kisco Smokehouse. Any ideas?
