duk bo sam restaurant - korean in oakland

i finally got to try this korean restaurant on telegraph (3704 telegraph)

it doesn't have an english name, only a korean name which roughly means can-pig, but it is right next to big daddy's chinese on telegraph

the windows are completely covered up with the korean name of the restaurant, so it looks a little fishy from the outside because you can't see inside the restaurant, but once you go inside, you'll see that it is a restaurant

anyways, this is the only restauarnt that i know of in the east bay that serves duk bo sam

duk bo sam is basically thin sheets of rice cake that can be wrapped around grilled meats and eaten

we ordered the top sirloin and pork belly cuts and they come out raw and you cook it over the grill, i thought the meats were ok quality, and the pork belly was better than the sirloin

the spread includes a spicy salad which you put in the duk bo sam, sesame oil sauce, red sauce, shredded daikon, kimchee, seaweed, bean paste w/garlic and jalapenos

this place is a good fix if you're craving duk bo sam, but if you want just good meat without the duk, i'd suggest going somewhere else

btw, the menu is in korean and english
