Dry Gewurztraminer

ttriche | Jun 12, 2007 10:15 PM

I had a bottle of Hugg 2005 Gewurztraminer tonight with my wife. It wasn't *bad*, but I had been led to expect bone-dry Gewurztraminers from Alsatian vintners, and this wine... well, it was not dry. Again, it's not the wine tasted *bad*, but it wasn't dry, and it didn't really go with the spicy stir-fry we had for dinner. As my wife put it, it'd be great by itself as an apertif -- but not with spicy food.

Any suggestions for a dry Gewurztraminer? I had one, once, and it was GREAT. But I can't seem to track down another to save my life!

Thanks in advance.
