Dozier's Meat Market (Fulshear, TX)

Dozier’s Grocery Meat Market

FM 359, Fulshear, TX
Seven miles south of Brookshire, off of Interstate-10, west of Katy

After hearing Robb Walsh repeatedly sing the praises of Dozier’s, a friend of mine and I took a little trip out to Fulshear to try it out for ourselves. We were very impressed with the pork ribs and the sausage, but found the brisket dry and unappealing. I also bought some pecan smoked bacon from the meat market, but I haven’t cooked it up yet. It’s supposedly very good. The atmosphere is just what you would expect…

By the way, I recently purchased Walsh’s Legends of Texas Barbecue Cookbook and have enjoyed reading it. I haven’t used any of the recipes or cooking techniques from the book yet, but the history and information on the different regional barbecue styles within Texas has been fascinating. I would recommend it for anyone who is truly obsessed with barbecue, as I am.
