Restaurants & Bars 10

Downtown solo dining options...

I have to take my daughter downtown twice a week, from around 5-8, so I need to find a decent restaurant and time to kill...have tried many places, and am open to new suggestions.

Places I've tried:

Nick & Stef - tried happy hour menu - not bad, but nothing to write home about...airport marriott like ambiance
Drago Central - bar menu was terrible, regular menu nice, but a little pricey.
Philippes - Always good, but have been going for 20 years.
CPK - Fine for chain.
Bottega Louie - Food not so good, though I like ambiance.
Sushi Gen - Very solid sushi, but a little pricey at dinner...also, little things like 2.50 for parking and 1.50 for extra ginger bug me.
Sushi Komasa - tried last couple weeks for first time - very respectable dinner combos at excellent prices...terrific miso soup and tempura...validated parking!
Church & State - was not impressed, and this was before WM left...also, don't want to spend $50 for dinner on a regular basis.
Lazy Ox - overrated. Barebones decor, pricey for what it is. Flavors and presentation were not my cup of tea.
Sushi Go 55 - terrific $10 sushi dinner, have not tried a la carte.
Daikokuya - don't like waiting in line, no parking...good on a rainy day, tho.

Any other suggestions would be terrific - I'm going to try the two Shabu Shabu places (not a big fan of it, but will try once more)...
