The recently-opened Back Door Cafe is hidden at the back of an office building. They are cajun-style. Much of the food looks like standard lunch fare, but I got the impression this place is very sincere. The food looked fresh. The soups and chili looked quite good. Prices are very reasonable.
I was at meeting where the lunch was catered by Back Door Cafe. Everyone in the room raved about the food. The price for the tray of croissant sandwiches and a generous bowl of spinach salad was comparable to the deli we used in the past, but fresher and better quality. What really impressed me was they brought real plates and flatware -- no disposables!
I myself did not try any of the food. My impression is that it's a sincere, solid place for lunch, and a good value. The place has several tables for eating in. The building is near Mumfords, next door to the veterinary hospital.

Dear NJ Chowhounds,
I will be taking a break from this message board. I am on a very limited diet -- trying to isolate and heal some food allergies. I have not eaten at a restaurant in more than a month. I hope to be back posting here in the future.
In the meantime, Happy Chow!
