Had dinner last night at the new Turkish restaurant My Moon in williamsburg. Place was packed but I can't imagine it staying that way for long - the food and service were not good. The prices seem reasonable until you actually get the too-small portions. Most of the main entrees my table ordered (lamb kebob, trout, sea bass) did not include vegetables or sides, only a flimsy salad that looked more like a garnish. The shepherd's salad is an insult after eating the one at Sahara on Coney Island Avenue. I didn't know it was possible to make a salad so tasteless in the summer. The trout was also very bland - this would be a great place to take someone with a sensitive stomach! Judging from the crowd at My Moon, if the restaurant Tanoreen in Bay Ridge were able to transplant itself in Williamburg and serve cocktails, you would have lines around the block!
