Dinner at Off Vine

lil mikey | Jan 17, 2004 12:03 AM

Service: Sketchy/off and on. Busboys good; server absent much of the time.
Carrot soup: Too salty.
Lamb chops: Excellent. Wonderful flavor and nice presentation. Horrible for the diet/no-carb crowd as it’s served with pureed carrots and mashed potatoes (the potatoes were delicious).
Chicken marsala with mushrooms: Good, not great. Served with the same sides as lamb chops.
Chocolate souffle: Good to very good. I liked the lightness of this souffle.
Wine: Good house Cabernet… 2 glasses.
Price: $75 before tip

I’ve had many lunches here, and they are pretty good. I can’t remember anytime I’ve ever had dinner here before tonight. Off Vine is a solid place to take someone if you want to be sure it’s going to be above-average and relatively consistent.

I still want to try their brunch, as I’ve read several good things here on Chowhound about it.
