My family recently completed a scrumptious Big Easy visit thanks to New Orleans Chowhounds, so I'm counting on you guys for some good advice here.
In a couple of weeks my wife, 16 year old daughter and I will be heading down south for a swim meet in Mission Viejo and to look at the UCI and UCSD campuses. On our first night we'll do tapas in San Diego and our last will be Marrakesh in La Jolla (my daughter loves their bastilla). The middle night we'll be staying at Country Suites on Los Alisos in MV, and my wife and I will dine as a twosome. We don't care if it's homey or fairly upscale, just that it be a "chowhound worthy" dining experience and complement our two other dinners. Anyplace we can drive to within a half-hour from our hotel would be fine. Some thoughts from reading the board include Vessia for Italian, Pho Bac for Vietnamese and Dae Myoung for Korean--although San Francisco level Chinese would be great too. Only one night. We're in your hands, chowhounds.
