Sis and I took mutual friends from Philly.
Started w/edamame: hot and salted, the correct combination -- most places serve these cold, tepid, or unsalted.
Black cod -- delicious, no bones.
Dungeness crab salad -- heavenly.
Yellowtail carpaccio w/caviars -- out of this world.
Lobster tempura -- a true delicacy.
They had some spicy shrimp which they liked a lot.
On to sushi:
Spicy tuna roll w/gobo -- the best in town.
Albacore sushi -- the best maybe anywhere.
Yellowtail belly -- great.
Fresh water eel -- blackened just the way I like it.
Several orders of each of these for the table and they also had yellow jack and either halibut fin or mackerel, as well as California and yellowtail rolls.
Not one piece was left on the marble.
Friend wanted a plum hand roll for dessert -- nice.
Out came the bill with some of those cute little Japanese chocolates -- $214. Friend whom I'd taken here seven years ago said it was worth the wait and just as incredible as she'd remembered. Place was packed with people, everyone loved it.
