New Deli in downtown Baltimore!

A new deli has opened at the Congress Hotel apartment building (306 W Franklin St) called Cafe Muse. For anyone who enjoys Cafe Mocha, this is on the same vein. The owner, Keith is a veteran of the DC food industry and native of Baltimore. I didn't catch exactly what restaurants he has worked at, but the sandwiches he is making are well thought out and delicious.

Today I had a Lamb Sausage Sandwich ($5.95) on a ciabatta style bread with chopped mint, goat cheese, red peppers, and sun dried tomatoes which was fantastic. The sausages had just the right amount of spice and the goat cheese was soft enough to melt into the sandwiches and gave it a nice sharp flavor.

I also had a cup of mushroom soup ($2.25) that is chock full of mushrooms and hearty. Faint taste of sherry gives it a nice flavor.

Some things I have not tried (yet) on the menu:

Rocket Salad ($4.95) - Arugula with Chevre Figue, tomatoes, onions, and dates
Traditional Waldorf Salad ($4.25)
Country Ham with Apple Slaw Sandwich ($5.75) - with baby swiss and bourbon mustard
Braised Veal Cheek Sandwich ($8.95) - with garlic tomatoes
Spicy Artichoke Smoked Chicken Salad ($6.50) - with onion chestnuts, peppers, and tomatoes.

I hope this deli makes it. It's nice to have a high end sandwich.
