Dee's on Metropolitan Ave.

My husband and I went to see a movie at the Metropolitan Ave. theater (Cinemart?) in Forest Hills when we happen to pass by Dee's Authentic Wood Oven Pizza (104-02 Metropolitan and 72nd Dr. or so). The fire in the oven seemed to call our names and we decided to try it, and it was wonderful! Great Pizza! We have Nick's close by (which is better than Lombardi's any day), but this place is different. The crust was a little thicker and the toppings were magnificent. My husband asked me if I had read about it on Chowhound, and I don't think I've seen it, but I would love to encourage others to try it out. There are a great number of pizza combinations on the menu or you can make up your own. The place is very Mediterranean (not really Italian) with hummus, yummy eggplant, and fava bean mezze as well as some Armenian touches. There is also a full page of pasta dinners which after our third visit we finally decided to try and were pretty good, but the pizza is really the key. Their desserts are also pretty fancy and tasty. Has any else tried it? Can't say enough!
